When is someone besides Doug P. going to lead another club run?? Should have asked that after this run.
We met at All the Best Video, between Dolly O’s & Rite-Aid. That is the ‘usual’ meeting place although we have called it Dolly O’s. Again, we turned right at Inskip, CA onto Forest Service (FS) 25N17 (aka Brown’s Ravine Rd. pvt). Doug wanted to show the group some of the secluded spots he has found while traveling with the dogs he has owned over the years.
The first stop was on FS 25N08 about one mile from the 25N17, to the first secluded spot, with arrows stuck high up in some of the trees. Back on the 25N08 we continued through some very mild, but rough 4×4 stuff, to Concow Rd. A left turn took us across the concrete at the north end of Philbrook Reservoir. We stopped at the Day Use. Continuing westerly we turned right onto FS 25N05 to Lott’s ‘T’, and onto the private property of Lott’s Lake Property owners to the Native Sons of the Golden West (NSGW) which Doug P. joined earlier this year, just so he could get access to this property. He has known about it since he was a teen, but…. Lunch was had on the NSGW property before heading down to the High Lakes area FS 611, easterly end. We turned right & came out on the 25N04 (aka SPI ‘T’ Line). That took us to a left turn onto Concow Rd for about a mile then a right turn back onto the 25N17 again. After descending the hill we turned right into another secluded spot Doug found many years ago. Back to the 25N17 & on to Inskip, then home.
